1. What are the table and electrical requirements?

The large chocolate fountain weighs about 100 pounds when in operation (the medium approximately 75 pounds) so a level and sturdy table is required. If not level, the chocolate will not flow properly over the stainless steel tiers. Ideally, the table should be at least 6 feet long to accommodate the fountain as well as food, serving trays, plates, etc. Both fountains also require a 120 volt grounded electrical outlet within 6 feet of the setup location.

2. Who provides the dipping foods?

Most banquet facilities do not allow outside vendors to bring in food items - it is either included in your package or an additional fee may be required by your hall. Some banquet halls may allow you to bring in your own dipping items, but it is best to call and check. Let them know you are bringing in a fountain and place an order for the dippings. You can place an order with your hall by printing the list of dipping items and choosing the ones you want or add your own selections. Remember, items that crumble easily, such as cake, will clog the fountain and cause the chocolate to become lumpy. If you would like SilkWave to provide the dipping foods, there is an additional charge of $2.00 per peron for 5 items from our dipping items list. Again, check with your banquet hall to make sure SilkWave may provide the dipping items.

3. Who provides the decorations for the Chocolate Fountain?

We provide a tulle (white netting) wrapped and lighted base for the fountain. However, you may decorate around the fountain using your own special touches. Many people like to decorate with their colors using fresh flowers, candles, printed napkins, etc. The only request is that nothing be hanging over, touching or blocking access to the fountain. The foods being used for dipping must also be arranged directly around the fountain. Certain decorations may need to be approved by your hall.

4. Can the chocolate fountain be set up outdoors?

No. The chocolate fountain will only operate in an enclosed area because of factors such as wind, bugs, dust, and direct sunlight. Maintaining the temperature of the chocolate is critical to the function of the machine. We would be able to set up the fountain inside an enclosed tent provided the temperature inside is at least 70 degrees.

5. What areas do you service?

We are based in Green Bay, WI and serve the Northeast Wisconsin area, Upper Michigan, and Door County. We offer free delivery within a 40 mile radius of Green Bay. Should you need the fountain at an event outside that area, a travel charge based on mileage is added.

6. How many people will the chocolate fountain serve?

The large fountain holds up to 25 pounds of melted chocolate and serves 400+ guests. The medium fountain holds up to 15 pounds of melted chocolate and serves smaller parties of 50-400 guests. Of course, these are just guidelines; you may rent either fountain for your event or both fountains. The small fountain is perfect for parties of 10-50 guests.

7. What is required to reserve the chocolate fountain?

We require a signed contract and deposit of 1/2 down at the time of booking. When we receive your deposit and information, we will send out a contract for you to sign and return. The contract serves as receipt of your deposit as well as confirmation of your date booked. The remaining balance is due 10 days before the date of the event. The other option you have is to print off the contract, sign, and send in with your deposit. Call our office first to determine if your date is available for the size fountain you are interested in OR fill out the availability form on this website to check if your date is open.

8. How much does it cost to rent the fountain and what is all included?

9. How far in advance should I reserve the fountain?

Reserve early! Reservations are limited and based on a first come, first served basis. Check availability for your date by filling in the form on this site. We will contact you within 24 hours. Or you may call us at 920-822-7144 or 920-822-8048 Ask for Michelle or Linda. Rates subject to change.

10. How does the chocolate fountain work?

The chocolate is melted and poured into the base (or bowl) of the fountain, which is heated to 125 degrees. When the fountain is turned on, an auger starts spinning in the center tube and pulls the chocolate up to the top where it then cascades over the tiers.
